Vessl ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

Information We Collect

Account Information: When you sign in with Apple, we receive a unique user identifier. We do not receive or store your name, email address, or Apple ID password unless you choose to share your email.

Usage Data: We collect information about how you use the app, including:

• Verses you are learning and your memorization progress
• Session completion data (steps completed, scores)
• Streak and achievement data
• XP and level progression

What We Do NOT Collect:

• We do not collect your precise location
• We do not access your contacts, photos, or other personal files
• We do not use advertising trackers or analytics SDKs that profile you
• We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing

How We Use Your Information

Your data is used solely to provide and improve the Vessl experience:

• To save your memorization progress across sessions
• To calculate streaks, XP, and achievements
• To display your position on the optional community leaderboard
• To schedule spaced repetition reviews at optimal intervals

Data Storage & Security

Your verse progress and learning data are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. Leaderboard and account synchronization data is stored in a secure cloud database (Supabase) with:

• Row-level security ensuring you can only access your own data
• HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
• Encrypted storage at rest

Third-Party Services

Vessl uses the following third-party services:

• Apple Sign In: For authentication only
• Supabase: For secure cloud database services (leaderboard, account sync)

We do not integrate any advertising networks, social media trackers, or analytics platforms that collect personal data.

Your Rights & Choices

You have full control over your data:

• Reset Progress: You can reset all your memorization progress from within the app's Settings page
• Delete Account: You can permanently delete your account and all associated data from Settings
• Notifications: Daily reminders are optional and can be disabled at any time

Children's Privacy

Vessl is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app does not contain ads, in-app purchases targeting children, or links to external websites.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
